Tour Guide - Helder Costa

Helder Costa is a birdwatcher for more than 25 years and he travelled the world birding. Over the years he visited most of Portugal’s regions and collected an enormous amount of information about the country birds. He is author or co-author of 13 books and more than 60 papers and articles on birds. He is actively engaged in several field projects and he was part of the team that lead the last breeding bird atlas for Portugal. He is founder member of SPEA (Sociedade Portuguesa para o Estudo das Aves – Birdlife in Portugal) and he was board member between 1993 and 2006 during which was president between 1999 and 2006. He is also founder member of the Portuguese Rarities Committee and was his chairman between 1995 and 2002. Helder is fluent in English.
